AMD Catalyst

New Catalyst 14.11.1 driver for Advanced Warfare and Assassin’s Creed Unity released

Catalyst 14.11.1 Driver

The AMD crew have kicked out a new Catalyst beta driver for a couple of new titles.

The Catalyst 14.11.1 driver  has arrived bringing with it performance improvements for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Assassin’s Creed Unity which will be releasing very shortly. As this is a beta driver there are a few known issues to point out.

Assassin’s Creed Unity in CrossFire mode will suffer from “occasional stuttering”.

There’s a small chance of intermittent screen tearing or corruption in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on high settings 4K resolution in AMD CrossFire mode,

Quad CrossFire AMD Radeon R9 295X2 may sometimes black screen when loading a game in Advanced Warfare.

AMD Radeon R9 280X/280 may experience a crash when playing Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare and a video at the same time.

CrossFire users may experience intermittent flickering in Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare menus. As a work around if this issue is seen restarting the game may cause the issue to disappear.

It is a beta driver so hopefully a full release will arrive in the future and AMD are still working with Activision to resolve any outstanding isses. It’s still worth a look if you want to see if you can squeeze more out of the performance.

The full note can be found over on the AMD site and the driver is available from this page.
