Starbreeze has made an important business decision regarding their next title; it’s not going to be a first-person remake of a beloved Bullfrog game (Syndicate didn’t go so well). In fact, it’s not first-person or even shooter-y at all. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is looking more like a sweeping fairytale type affair, with (judging by the teaser trailer) some degree of co-operation between the two titular brothers.
For the game, Starbreeze has teamed up with filmmaker Josef Fares.
“When I first visualised Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons I knew I wanted to combine the deep, engrossing storyline of a film with the physical experience of a video game, allowing players to emotionally connect with the characters as they trek across sweeping, interactive environments such as peaceful vistas, foreboding forests and dangerous mountainsides,” Fares says.
It’ll be coming to PC (Steam), Xbox Live and PSN in the spring of 2013. Have a look at some images and that teaser trailer, below.
