BF3 Netcode Fixed?

I'm debating whether to buy BF3 because the netcode sucked in beta and the fact my system is a little dated doesn't make me wanna jump on it...

So, did anyone play the beta, notice the horrible netcode, and realize that DICE said they'd fix it for release? Most importantly, did they actually improve the netcode significantly for release? Or does it still feel "loose" and "sloppy"?

I'm asking here because the BF3 forums are SLAMMED right now. On top of that, they're full of 12 year old trolling asshats whereas these forums are quite civilized.
