please elaborate nurman... I was a fan of the original and haven't been playing alot of DII since the 6 mo ladder was put in place-

This kinda sums my feelings up. (The review is for the 360 version, but the PC version suffers for the horrible mp server support and the lack of console (WHICH WAS BY THE WAY PRESENT IN THE DEMO!), being on-par with the console version graphic-wise ect. ect. in addition to the other shortcomings.)

It's like they took the flaws of the modern fps games (90% of their content) and slapped them onto Duke :(

This is why I rail against console games. Not the consoles themselves. Just the developer mentality that assumes that they must chase the lowest common denominator. There's smart people that own consoles too. Give them a chance to play a great game.

I just cannot wait until the tools or the mindset is in place to support the development of thoughtful, deep games once more.

We're screwed until the same game under a different name begins to fail.

I honestly hope I never see the following words again:

1. Cover-based anything
2. The PC version won't suffer (immediate sign of doom)
3. Streamlined
4. Broader Audience
5. We decided to trim away the parts of the game that got in the way of the fun
