I usually don't get too riled up about upcoming releases (and this one, it seems, is 11 months away), but I can't help but feel excited. Morrowind and Oblivion are two of my all-time favorite games and I can't imagine Skyrim being a disappointment (/knocks_on_wood).
While I'm on the topic of TES, for those of you who like to kick it old-school and aren't aware, two older installments from the series have been released as freeware by Bethesda.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
IMO it needs to be less like Oblivion and more like Morrowind. I'm not too excited for the game right now until I see more info.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
IMO they shouldn't make the PC and Console versions at the same time or at least not with the same people. Oblivion on PC felt like a dubbed console version, while Morrowind was much better on PC than Xbox.
Can't wait to see more about it in the coming months.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Man, I can't wait for this. But why such a gimmicky release date? Are they just waiting till 11-11-11 for the novelty of it?
IMO, release it as soon as it's done, not on a date, just because it's "neat"

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Well 11-11-11 is close to the 2011 holidays which Mass Effect 3 is supposed to be released as well. I'm sure its just a date as of right now to get everybody excited and its an easy to remember date as well.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
True, it IS easy to remember.
Also, I wish they'd have shown a bit of gameplay in the trailer, but now I'm just being needy ^_^

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
SonataArctica-Yea but with a year to go, I'm sure they will save those clips for awhile to make sure the hype stays with the game.
kavlor-Oblivion was pretty but I disliked it on the PC(other than some great modders out there). Felt too much like the game was ported from the consoles to the PC. There were some issues with the monsters leveling with players and the game being very very short but overall Morrowind+Oblivion would be an epic game

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Sounds like Oblivion 2, no thanks, that game was an overhyped piece of crap.
