Grim Dawn is an action role-playing game ...
It is being developed by veterans of Iron Lore entertainment, the makers of Titan Quest.
Grim Dawn is being built with Crate's own improved version of the Iron Lore engine and toolset; the same technology used to create Titan Quest.
As a spiritual successor, Grim Dawn will attempt to better perfect the magical formula of exploration, character advancement, and loot collection pioneered by Diablo.

Re: Grim Dawn, from the maker's or Titan Quest
Looks decent. $20 one time payment, (promised) continous support, and free downloadable expansions, it's quite a deal, something I definately would consider buying in the future if I have time to play it.
Between Diablo 2: LoD, Heroes of Newerth, Torchlight, DotA, various Ps2, Xbox360 and DS games, and soon to include Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Hellgate London, and Final Fantasy XIV, I'm not sure I'll have time though.
But with regards to funding options: paying an extra $30 to get into alpha testing, credit, and a special item is so not worth it when the game company isn't well established. Getting credit is pointless unless this game blows up big time and gets into top mainstream. In-game (visual-only) accessory? Pft. In-game imba super awesome weapon/etc.? Yes. If it's case #2, I might consider buying the epic-fan edition, but otherwise I'm just going to wait until it's publicly released.

I'd definately keep an eye on this but I can't see it being anything more than a casual game I'd play since it doesn't seem to offer closed servers but if it was to introduce some innovative gameplay I might get more into it,its being the people who brought Titan quest is a big plus.
