Alright, it's for nes, the main character had shades and threw a boomerang.
I am not kidding, this is what i remember of it .
Also i vaguely remember that boss battles were in these Box like rooms that you would go into...

Aww!! I think I remember playing or seeing that game too!! I have absolutely NO clue what it was, unfortunately...

edit: Googled and found!! It's called Power Blade!!
