Re: Sins of A Solar Empire
Well cool.
How is it starting off? IE: From a beginners standpoint. The let's play I just watched(just the 1st episode) looked like it starts pretty slow. I'm guessing there are resources you have to gather and what nots. Is it just a planet hoping game?
Re: Sins of A Solar Empire
It's easy to learn but hard to master. Resources are credits from your planet taxes, metal and crystal from asteroids. You spend them building ships and for research and expansion of planets.

I'll be around after work tonight.....
If you download the game play the Diplomacy chapter, it's everything in one. There's also an 80 Page .Pdf manual that you can look at, but that beginner's guide in the first link is really nice, and quite extensive. I think I read through it twice before starting.

Re: Sins of A Solar Empire
It really is a great game and one I feel badly about neglecting. :P Now that I'm done with EVE Online and back on my old xp machine, I'm dusting off older/unfinished games. I don't have it installed on this PC but I got the digital download + retail hard-copy when it came out. I think I even got the first expansion as a free download through the Impulse client, IIRC.
Unfortunately all of that is on my gaming rig HD which is down for the count. The battles reminded me of Homeworld and the game in general reminds me of Imperium Galactica II.
