The soap opera that is Half Life 2's release date continues today with numerous reports that due to the recent leak of the game's source code, Valve's shooter will not be released until 2004. VU Games president of international operations Christophe Ramboz is reported to have said:

"A third of the source code was stolen. It's serious because it forces us to delay the launch of the game by at least four months, that is to April 2004. Just the time to rewrite parts of the game"

Now if you're a cynical bastard like myself the whole release date malarkey seems to have got a little out of hand. What with source code flying here and there it looks like gamers should just sit back, relax and enjoy some of the other great titles around, you could have a long wait ahead.
