It doesn't seem that long since Sim City 4 was released but that hasn't stopped EA announcing the new expansion pack, Sim City 4: Rush Hour. The new pack will add new transportation options including the elevated train networks of Boston, the wide avenues of New York, or the winding one-way streets of San Francisco. The pack focuses on transport and Maxis will allow you to create a mass transit system incorporating rail, subway and even a ferry service for improved travel options. There will also be all-new problem-solving maps and tracking tools and players will be able to see the flow of traffic, map out the most efficient routes, and quickly get Sims from one city to another.

It doesn't stop there though, the level of interactivity has been increased with the ability to take direct control of fire trucks, mapping out the quickest route to the city's fire disasters. There will also be crime related missions where players are challenged to catch car-jackers and thwart bank robbers to earn reward buildings and other vehicles. You will also be able to put your Sims in new cars, ferries, helicopters, and zeppelins.
New structures are also featured including new bridge options and the ability to create a city based on a modern European building set. Players will also be able to add popular structures to their cities such as historic train stations, classic Americana road marks, or European tourist attractions. Also why not mark your territory as mayor and personalise the city by labeling street names, mountains, neighbourhoods, and points of interest.
To cause havoc in your city new disasters are also being added. Car accidents and train derailments can will wreak havoc or why not even start a good old alien invasion or whack down a few crop circles?
On today's announcement, Lucy Bradshaw, Vice President and Executive Producer of the game at EA's Maxis studio added:
"Transportation is the pulsing life-blood of every city and is the number one requested area to expand upon among SimCity 4 fans. Players will experience the thrill and power of creating and controlling the ultimate transportation utopia in SimCity 4 Rush Hour."
