Civilization V expansion coming late spring

Sid Meier's Civilization VFiraxis are currently hard at work on the 'Gods & Kings' expansion for Civilization V, 2K Games has announced. It's due for release late this spring.

Included in the content are new types of city-states, Mercantile and Religious, as well as tweaks to land and naval combat (ships will be split into melee and ranged types). A Pantheon of the Gods can be built which will allow your prophets to spread your own religion throughout the world.

Nine new civilisations will be bundled in, along with nine new wonders, new units types, three scenarios, new buildings, tech and resources.

The three new scenarios sound intriguing, based around the fall of the Roman empire, the medieval period and a Victorian-era outing dubbed 'Empires of the Smokey Skies'.
