Twisted Metal movie might not be good, gets Crank director

This is not a good sign. The movie adaptation of Twisted Metal will be written and directed by Brian Taylor.

Who is Brian Taylor, you ask? That's a perfectably reasonable question. He's the guy who co-wrote and co-directed the messy, poorly crafted masses of crap that were the Crank films. He was also co-writer/director on Gamer, which wasn't as bad but was hardly an action movie classic.

It's being reported that Sony Pictures approached Taylor with a seven figure deal to direct the movie. This will be the first time Taylor will take a project by himself.

The film will, like the game, focus on the death-match competition run by Calypso - the prize being to grant the winner anything they want.

Please, Mr Taylor, do a good job. Learn from the mistakes you have made in past.
