Sony's PlayStation Vita seems to be on the up after a month of declining sales figures in Japan.
Last week the handheld sold 18,942 units, over 3,500 more than the previous week's total of 15,219. The increase puts it back above the PSP for the first time in over a month, with Sony's now outdated handheld moving 16,008 units.
The improvement in the PS Vita's fortunes is likely due to the release of Tales of Innocence last week.
As ever, Nintendo's 3DS was the best selling hardware of the week with 84,789, seconded by the PlayStation 3 with 21,155. The Wii and Xbox 360 lag behind with 10,396 and 1,235 respectively.
PS Vita is still on track for a European and North American launch on 22 February, 2012.
