Res Evil 6 is 'dramatic horror' not 'survival horror'

Resident Evil 6

Capcom has claimed that Resident Evil 6 is the biggest-production the publisher has ever set in motion, with more than 600 people working on the game. Not only that, but the publisher is now referring to it as 'dramatic horror', rather than 'survival horror'.

“This is by far the largest-scale production Capcom has ever embarked on. Between the 150 staff members in Japan and everyone around the world we have more than 600 people involved. A lot of work has gone into this game," said the game's executive producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi.

Resident Evil 6 is by far and away the most ambitious title in the series,” he added.

Further, Resident Evil 6 prodcuer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added that the game will feature a "larger world" and "deeper experience" than we've "ever played before."

It seems that Capcom are attempting to rid the series of the 'survival horror' tag, with Hirabayashi describing Res Evil 6 as "a blend of action and survival horror – something we like to call dramatic horror.”

Resident Evil 6 was revealed last week, see the announcement trailer below.

Resident Evil 6 is on 20 November for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, a PC edition is expected thereafter.
