David Jaffe has moved to temper expectations for the single player aspect of his forthcoming new Twisted Metal title, suggesting that those with little interest in multiplayer might want to consider just renting it instead. Citing recent games like Batman: Arkham City and Skyrim, he says that if you expect a campaign on that level "you will be sorely dissapointed (sic)".
Quite who'd be expecting a multiplayer-focused game like Twisted Metal to be featuring a campaign up there with the single-player only Batman: Arkham City is a bit of a mystery; but if you were, now you know not to expect that.
Jaffe is still keen to remind everyone that multiplayer will be well worth paying full price for, stating: "The game -I feel- is well worth the asking price BUT that's for folks who love the MP (local same couch 2-4 player split screen or online MP ((1 player full screen online, 2 player split screen online)) )...If you are buying the new TM ONLY or MOSTLY for campaign, might I suggest a rental?"
"[I] just want to set expectations and be super clear that the heart and soul of the title is all about the MP," he adds.
Twisted Metal is due for release on PS3 on 14 February.
