Metal Gear Solid themed 3DS is positively butt ugly

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed (via Twitter) that a special edition Nintendo 3DS console will be released to celebrate the launch of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater on the system.

As you can see above, the console features an embossed snakeskin cover. You can also see that it's one of the ugliest pieces of gaming kit ever designed. Seriously, as a joke it's bad, as a serious release it's a joke.

There's no official word on which territories will see the monstrosity. The fact that Kojima is tweeting about it all but confirms a Japanese launch, though.
