Battery life is, understandably, an important concern for anyone thinking of buying a portable device - be it laptop, tablet, phone or gaming device. But battery life doesn't always make sense, as recent tests of Sony's PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS seem to show.
Being big, bright and having two touch pads, I would have thought that the PS Vita would have a shorter battery life than the 3DS. Sure, the 3DS has 3D but the screens are tiny in comparison and, quite frankly, vastly inferior to the Vita's in terms of resolution, contrast and refresh rate.
Playing on full brightness, with 3G capabilities enables, the PS Vita ran out of juice after three hours and 47 minutes of playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
In comparision, the 3DS clocked two hours and 35 minutes on Monster Hunter Tri G with brightness and 3D set to maximum.
