PS3 is lead platform for Metal Gear Rising

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Platinum Games' Atsushi Inaba has confirmed that Metal Gear Rising is being lead developed on PlayStation 3.

Inaba moved to confirm the news after confusion broke it when a video showed the game being controlled with a 360 pad. Apparently, a 360 controller is used when testing the game on the PCs Platinum games uses for cross-platform development.

Metal Gear Rising is due on both PS3 and 360.

You may remember Platinum Games as the studio that bought us the wonderful Bayonetta, and the almost as wonderful Vanquish. Bayonetta was developed on 360 by Platinum, with publisher Sega handling PS3 porting duties. That turned out badly, the PS3 version plagued by lengthy load times.

Since then Platinum have developed all of their multi-platform titles (including the upcoming Anarchy Reigns) on PS3.
