Awesomenauts release date and dev commentary

AwesomenautsWhat does it take to be an Awesomenaut? You'll be able to find out when the game is released on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in February 2012. Meanwhile, you can use your optic nerves to process the data from a developer commentary video, featuring a full Awesomenauts match-up.

"We understand that fans may initially feel disappointed that the game will not be released before the end of the year, [but] we will make sure to use the extra time available to us to polish Awesomenauts even further," says Romino Games co-founder Jasper Koning.

When I learned about the game at E3, I thought it was a platformer. In fact, it looks like a 2D Dota-style arena battle title, complete with tanks and healers and all that business. Confession time: I've utterly failed to compress the 21 minute video enough to upload it to the usual IncGamers server, so this is just a straight-up youtube link.

As an added bonus, enjoy revisiting the E3 2011 trailer (below the commentary video), which features some of the finest music of our generation.
