Doom 4 delayed 'indefinitely'

RageAnonymous source claims the decision is due to "a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id."

A source claiming close ties with publisher Bethesda has said that Doom 4 has been postponed indefinitely, following technical issues and disappointing reviews.

Apparently, Bethesda and its parent company Zenimax Media held a "company wide" meeting in Dallas, Texas where the decision was made to halt the project. The source went on to say that there's now “a serious lack of confidence in the project management at id” from Bethesda's side.

We've contact Bethesda for an official statement.

Rage has suffered particularly badly on the PC, where driver compatibility issues caused problems for many players. Those issues sparked id Software co-founder John Carmack to comment that the PC is no longer a leading games platform.

Despite the above, we rather liked Rage. You can read our 9/10 review here.

[Update: Bethesda rubbish Doom 4 delay rumours as 'complete bollocks'.]
