First batch of Gran Turismo 5 DLC dated

Gran Turismo 5Polyphony Digital sure do know how to make you wait...

Gran Turismo 5 has been on shelves and in PlayStation 3's for 11 months, and only now is the first DLC pack on its way. Of course, seeing as the game was delayed for what seemed like 10 years, 11 months isn't too bad.

But, wait! It's not just the one pack, it's four seperate packs - all of which will be available from 18 October.

The most expensive of the bunch is 'The Racing Car Pack', priced at $7.99,which packs 15 cars - including three go-karts, the Mazda RX-7 and the ever-wonderful Nissan GT-R R35.

At $4.99 you can get the 'Course Pack', which adds a karting track alongside the SPA-Francorchamps. Rather less interesting is the $2.99 'Racing Gear Pack', which adds new helmets and racing suits, and the $1.99 Paint Pack (100 new colours for your cars).

All four packs can be bought in bundle form for $11.99.

Today sees the release of the Gran Tursimo 5 2.0 update. A major update coming in at over 1GB, 2.0 adds cockpit views for all cars and, among other things, a new intro movie.

The timing of the above releases is surely intended to mute the release of 360-exclusive Forza Motorsport 4 this Friday. Will it be enough? It'll be a tough ask, our review of Turn 10 and Microsoft's racer calling it "the finest racing simulator of this generation."
