Dark Souls, Rage and NBA 2K12.

Last week saw a lack of triple-A releases with everyone trying to avid the sales juggernaut that is Fifa. Turns out that it was the correct tactic, Fifa 12 going on to dominate the UK sales chart this week. 

Publishers seem to have gotten their courage back this week, a trio of heavily anticipated games hitting UK stores on Friday.

Dark Souls, the 'spiritual successor' to Demon's Souls, comes to PS3 and Xbox 360 with a view to demonstrating just how bad modern titles have made you at videogames (Dark Souls is one of the most difficult games we've ever played). Our review of Dark Souls is going live tomorrow (4 Oct) so make sure you check back to get our verdict. 

Joining Namco-Bandai's Dark Souls is Bethesda's Rage and 2K Sports' NBA 2K12. Rage is the latest title from Quake and Doom creators id Software, an open-world FPS set 100 years after an asteroid-induced apocalypse has decimated Earth. 

If you've ever played NBA 2K11 then you need no introduction regarding NBA 2K12. If you've not played NBA 2K11 then all you need to know is expectation is high. Very high.
