Original Crysis coming to 360 and PS3

CrysisEA has confirmed that an oft-rumoured version of the original Crysis will be released as a downloadable title through Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network this October.

You'll just be getting the single player campaign (so no multiplayer), but it'll be presented in Crytek's CryEngine3, the engine the team used for Crysis 2. That means some fancy new lighting and effects (not that the first Crysis was any slouch in that department).

The single player has been 'remastered' for consoles, which the press release interprets as the slightly vague "optimized Nanosuit controls, fine-tuned combat and full stereoscopic 3D support". I read that to mean "we added some aim assistance for gamepads".

The buffed up Crysis is due in October and will cost £16 GBP (1600 MS Points).
