Halo Reach title update coming October

Halo: ReachVarious changes and additions to multiplayer planned, including the 'classic' Magnum pistol.

343 Industries, the developer behind the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Aniversary and Halo 4, are working on a title update for Bungie's Halo: Reach that aims to address a number of issues voiced by the game's community.

The most dramatic planned alteration/inclusion is the addition of the original Halo's Magnum pistol to multiplayer. Aimed at rekindling the "madness and carnage players revelled in a decade ago", the Magnum will be available in 'Classic Playlists'.

Further, the update will bring a number of balancing tweaks. Armour Lock will have its effectiveness reigned in by absorbing damage in relation to the player's remaining energy prior to initiating it. Active Camo's duration will be reduced and the ability to deflect sword attacks with weapons other than another sword will be removed.

The aiming reticle will also be customisable to satify fans of "precision firing" by providing increased accuracy when "firing in rapid succession".

This update will also enable Reach players using an Xbox 360 4GB console without a HDD to utilize Campaign and Firefight matchmaking which previously required a HDD.

In other Halo news, it has also been confirmed that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will support stereoscopic 3D.
