Blizzard holds off on Diablo 3 Beta date announcement

Activision Blizzard's latest financial call was held this evening, during which it was assumed they would reveal a date for the start of the Beta test.

They didn't...

During the conference call Blizzard's CEO, Mike Morhaime, hinted that there would be some big Diablo news but sadly listeners were dissapointed.

Morhaime simply stated that the Beta was on schedule for a Q3 release which had already been stated many times by Blizzard in the past few weeks. Unsurprisingly they would not commit to a final release date.

The Beta is expected to start within the next few weeks.  It will be a much smaller test than we're used to from Blizzard, used simply to test the servers and new Battle.Net features.
