John Burns appointed TRION's SVP and General Manager Europe


TRION has appointed John Burns as the new SVP and General Manager for Europe.

After consulting for the company since January, Burns joins TRION full time reporting to TRIONS's SVP Publishing, David Reid.

“John joins Trion with almost two decades of gaming experience with him, and will be essential in our continued success throughout Europe,” said Reid, Trion Worlds. “With the launch of Rift earlier this year, we began laying the groundwork for a strong presence in Europe, which will grow as we bring premium, connected games to gamers around the world.”

John has worked int he industry for over 15 years havinging served as Managing Director for Activision, VP and General Manager of Atari and as Electronic Arts’ Senior Director of Online Publishing.

With the launch of Rift as a chart topping new online intellectual property and several other high quality online titles in development, the company is achieving its strategy of bringing high class connected entertainment to consumers,’’ said Burns. ‘’Developing a world class European organization to augment and accelerate that strategy is a key next step for the company.’’
