Owners of Super Street Fighter IV can upgrade to the 'Arcade Edition' via digital download.
[The update will be made available to PlayStation 3 users, via PSN, tomorrow.]
Capcom have today announced that owners of Super Street Fighter IV can now download an add-on that contains all of the extra content that will come bundled with the box copy of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (due for release 24 June in Europe and 28 June in North America).
The download adds four new characters - Evil Ryu, Street Fighter III's Yun and Yang and new character, Oni - taking the total roster up to 39 playable fighters. Existing fighters have also been rebalanced, largely in terms of their recovery speed and hit box detection.
Also included is an updated Replay Channel which supposedly makes it easier to find fights from the best players and share them (and your own battles) with your friends. Replay Follower lets you track five players and receive notifications when they make new replays available. My Channel Advanced lets you share your data with up to 50 friends. There's also an Elite Channel which sorts players based on their total scores so you can filter out the crap.
A free downloadable update will be made available to allow players that purchase the add-on to battle online with players using a box copy of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.
The download will set you back 1200MS Points on Xbox 360 and £11.99/$14.99/€14.99 on PlayStation 3. Not to shabby if you ask me. Then again, I like a little Street Fighter.
