XCOM E3 trailer and release date

2K Marin's XCOM shooter will be with us in 2012 according to the info that’s just dropped in our desks here at IncGamers.

As far as upcoming titles go, this is one we have our eyes on, and mainly because it's XCOM which is such a classic series. This is not a strategy title through but an FPS so we're intrigued how it will pan out. 

Today we have a final release date which is 6 March, 2012 in North America and 9 March, 2012.

Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K appears rather excited about nailing down a release date adding: 

“Every time I think of XCOM it gives me the chills, the kind that come from standing witness to the corruption and destruction of your world as you stand powerless to prevent it. I’m pleased to announce today that we will be bringing this experience to an even broader audience when XCOM comes to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in March 2012.”

In XCOM, Special Agent William Carter and his crack team will be battling against the extinction of the human race against the aliens. The game will feature tactical elements and utilise the latest alien technology, which played such a key part in the original strategy series, will be turned against the enemy.
