To be directed by Takashi Miike, due for a Spring 2012 release in Japan.
Earlier this week IncGamers reported that Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike is working on "a court drama, based on a videogame" Capcom has now confirmed that the movie is indeed based on the Pheonix Wrightseries of games.
Miike is the director behind Ichi the Killer, Audition, 13 Assassins and Crows Zero.
Pheonix Wright, his rival Miles Edgeworth and Wright's assistant Maya Fay will all appear in the film. Hiroki Narimiya will take up the role of Pheonix Wright, most famous for his roles in 2003's Azumi and 2005's Nana.
Capcom touted that the Pheonix Wright movie falls in line with their "single content multiple usage" strategy. A tactic that has worked wonders with squeezing extra money out of the Resident Evil franchise through releasing a trio of surprisingly succesful movie adaptations.
No news on a Western release as of yet.
