So long as you're prepared to part company with Brink...
It's getting a bit old this isn't it? Every time a major title is on the verge of release, retail outlets start going crazy over outdoing the competition with loss leader price cuts, glorified trade-in deals and other such capitalist buffoonery.
So let's have a huge round of 'applause' for UK high street retailer HMV, who (according to MCV) are offering up a copy of L.A. Noire for £4.99 as long as you're prepared to part company with team-based shooter, Brink.
A few predictions for L.A. Noire price cuts:
- Sainsbury's to go out at £9.99 so long as spend at least £25 on shopping.
- Tesco to go out at £9.99 so long as spend at least £20 on shopping.
- ASDA to offer any two chart/new releases at £55.
- GAME to offer a strategy guide at 50% off when bought with the game.
- Waitrose to ask you what 'price cut' means.
- Independent retailers to complain that price cuts are putting them out of business.
- The police force (eager to reap promotional benefits from a game that puts you in the hsoes of a detective) to giveaway a free copy to each person that applies to be a 'dummy' for police-dog training.
