Alan Wake 2 is not Alan Wake 2

Next Alan Wake is not a sequel or DLC.

Regular readers (or anyone that showed up yesterday) will know that a LinkedIn CV all but gave away the existence of Alan Wake 2.

Makers of the game, Remedy Entertainment, have since popped out of the woodwork to clear things up for us. Yes, more Alan Wake is coming but it's not Alan Wake 2.

"Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that, yes, more Wake is coming!" Remedy told Joystiq. "But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC." 

The developer went to say that an Autumn 2011 release date is "probably a good guess".

So it's not a sequel and it's not DLC... hmm, food for thought.
