Screen Gems, the company who brought us the Resident Evil movies, have (according to Variety) purchased the rights to develop Capcom's Devil May Cry for the silver-screen.
It seems Silver Gems are looking to further capitalise on their financial success with videogame movies thus by far - the Resident Evil movie franchise having grossed a whooping $580million to date.
Kyle Ward has been courted to write the script which tells the story of Dante "who avenges his mother's murder by killing off demons." A quick search on IMDB reveals that Ward has yet to be involved in a major film release but that he has written Fiasco Heights which is due out this year.
Interestingly, it also credits him as writer of the upcoming Kane & Lynch movie, due out in 2013.
We'll keep an eye out for any further developments relating to the movies plot, stars, crew and release date.
