Total War: Shogun 2 & Dragon Age 2 Demos Released

Shogun 2 ImageWhether you want to test out slaying Darkspawn or conquering Japan, today is the demo day for you.

Total War: Shogun 2's demo can be grabbed from the game's Steam page and is a super-mega 6GB in size. Why is it so fat? Well, because, say Creative Assembly, "It’s quite unlike any demo we have released previously. This demo will be giving a snippet of campaign gameplay. It’s a big piece, but a snippet none-the-less."

Basically, you'll be able to potter about in the campaign for a bit (with a few tutorial battles and the rest auto-resolved) and play a historical battle too.

Dragon Age 2 - AvelineMeanwhile, a Dragon Age 2 demo has also appeared in BioWareland. PC types can snag it from that page (it's a slightly more sensible 2GB in size,) while Xbox 360 and PS3 owners should be able to get it via XBLA and PSN.

Apparently, if the demo is downloaded one million times it'll unlock a couple of items for the full game. That sounds suspiciously close to blackmail to me, but then I'm not a critically acclaimed developer of RPG titles.

The full version of Total War: Shogun 2 is due out on 15 March, while Dragon Age 2 should be along on 8 March (US) or 11 March (EU.)
