No Faction Alignment Changes In SW: The Old Republic

The Old Republic: Planet QueshA new community Q&A session has popped up at the Star Wars: The Old Republic page, featuring queries about faction alignment changes, hardware requirements and jump buttons.

The Q&A appears beneath a painstakingly detailed article about drawing a Sith Temple, and confirms that, sadly, it won't be possible to make a storyline decision so critical that it changes your character's alignment.

"At this time, we don’t plan on allowing characters to change faction as part of the class story," says BioWare's Rich Vogel. "One of the main reasons for this is that it would interfere with your class story’s continuity ... That said, there is quite a bit of room for players to make dark and light side decisions throughout the game."

There's also a somewhat vague answer to whether The Old Republic will be able to run on older hardware. "... we’ve done as much as we can to create a compelling, detailed world that can scale easily based on your hardware's abilities," Vogel says. This sounds good, but without any hard system facts to go on, it's hard to tell just what this means.

Finally, there's some great news for bunnyhoppers, with confirmation that there is a jump function in the game. Bouncing Jedi, rejoice.
