Ninja Guidance: Shogun 2, Campaign Trailer

Shogun 2 ImageThe latest trailer to plop out of the Creative Assembly trailer machine shows us a few new and returning features that will be present in Total War: Shogun 2.

Many will be familiar to those who played the original Shogun, back in 2000 - such as the Geisha and Ninja agents, who can cause quiet havok in an enemy province. Rather than automatically gaining a 'level' on completion of a mission, however, it now seems agents like these will gain experience points to be spent in specific areas of skill.

Family trees look to have been expanded from the first game too, taking inspiration from some of the later Total War games (hopefully Medieval, which had perhaps the best approach to families.) Potential heirs will need to be protected - unless they happen to be feckless, tactically inept, weirdos, in which case you might want to send them on some dangerous assignments until they meet with an unfortunate accident.
