Take-Two’s Red Dead Redemption has been voted PS3 Game of the Year, beating commercial successes such as GT 5 and Black Ops.
The accolade, which was given by the team at the Official PlayStation Magazine, matches its Metacritic rating as the title is the highest-rated game of 2010.
Discussing the game, OPM wrote: “bringing the old west to vivid life just as the railroad arrives to crush it.
“From the startlingly pretty Jose Gonzalez scored arrivial in Mexico to the vibrant ecosystem (for you to kill and sell), there's barely a bum note struck.
"The greatest triumph, though, is the mission design - which is smart and satisfying throughout."
Red Dead Redemption is also rated as the fourth best PS3 game ever on Metacritic, beaten only by LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV.
