ReloadedProductions Details 'Basic Vs Premium' Split For APB Relaunch

Following on from the last week's development blog, the latest post from ReloadedProduction's Bjorn Book-Larsson talks a little about how the 'basic' vs 'premium' account distinction may work in the relaunched APB.

Reloaded announced recently that APB would be going free-to-play - so how do the team intend to deal with that switch?

Bjorn is relatively open when he notes that the added system-strain of inviting additional players under a free system means it's necessary to encourage the 'hardcore' to go for premium subscriptions. "We really mean it when we say that we want free players to also enjoy the experience, while giving everyone great perks for becoming premium players," he says.

The bulk of his post deals with customisation options offered to both types of player. In short, 'free' players will have access to almost as much customisation as premium players, but will not be able to store and share those creations. However, it will be possible to buy 'premium' for a month, go customisation-crazy, and then use those creations with a free account when the premium sub lapses.

Bjorn promises to write more next week, when he'll go into more detail about "specifically what ELSE we will give to Premium accounts."
