Sony To Launch First GT5 Patch Tomorrow

As the world waits for what is predicted to be the biggest-selling PS3 game to date, news has emerged that Gran Turismo 5 buyers wanting to play the game online will have to download an update first.

Patch 1.01, which will also add some community features to the game, will be a 133Mb file and will be available from tomorrow.

Gamers who try to play GT5 online without installing the update will be greeted with an error message.

Last week, Sony confirmed that the whole 6.4Mb game can be installed, taking around 40 minutes to do so. Alternatively, the game can install in smaller parts as players progress.
