The HD re-release of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is now available to download from the PlayStation Network Store, according to a post on the PlayStation blog.
Sands of Time is, in this writer's opinion, the very best entry in the Prince of Persia series. It was the last one to be written by Jordan Mechner and the last one to feature a version of the Prince that wasn't completely infuriating. Excellent puzzles, half-decent fights, a well-written female character and the ability to do one billion flips are also features of note.
For this remake, the graphics are now in 720p and the game is even compatible with 3D televisions if you like that sort of thing.
The next two in the "trilogy," Warrior Within and The Two Thrones, will be made available in December. Each release will be priced at $15.00 USD.
