Following news that APB was acquired by K2 Network, the new owners have revealed that the title is to become a free-to-play game in 2011.
K2 Network, who front free-to-play service GamersFirst, snapped up the failed online game for mega bucks.
Bjorn Book-Larsson, CTO and COO of GamersFirst, told IGN the game is being prepared in ready for its re-release as ‘a true free-to-play game’ in 2011.
