Square Enix Hopes To Salvage Final Fantasy XIV With 2010/11 Patch Schedule

Final Fantasy XIV was much-maligned upon release, to the point where publisher Square Enix had to issue an apology for the state the title was launched in and offer players an additional 30 free days of play.

A full patch schedule has now been revealed for the game, with updates to come in both November and December, followed by a further patching in 2011. The full break-down of which updates will be in which patch can be read at the official Final Fantasy XIV site.

Looking at the (massive) list, adjustments to quests, combat, item gathering, markets and the user interface are all promised, giving people some idea just how much was wrong with this title when it launched.

The PS3 version is still scheduled for 2011 and should benefit from a less broken release, as it will be able to take advantage of this latest series of updates.
