The EverQuest II site has announced that EverQuest Extended, the recently adopted free-to-play model, is now out of beta and has officially launched.
Extended runs alongside the traditional subscription-based model for EverQuest II and offers various tiers of membership to prospective players. The bronze tier is free, but has the most restrictions, while platinum grants the most goodies but costs money.
In honour of this launch, EverQuest II is offering all Extended players a free "Staff of the Rising Phoenix" which can be claimed from the in-game marketplace on the Freeport server. The offer extends to 11:59 pm PDT on 3 October, after which the staff can no longer be obtained.
