Schafer also returns fire on Kotick

In what is quickly becoming a full-blown saga, Tim Schafer has joined EA in responding to comments made by Activision head-honcho, Bobby Kotick.

Kotick had attacked Schafer on the basis that, while working on Brutal Legend, he had missed deadlines, overspent and that the game didn't even look particularly good.  Kotick's comments came in the wake of an interview back in July in which Schafer had labelled the Activision CEO a "total prick", after Activision had attempted to block EA from taking control of the Brutal Legend project.

"It's sad is that instead of just insulting me personally, he goes after the product of my hard-working team - a group of people he almost put out of work a while back," Schafer told Eurogamer yesterday.

"But what's even sadder is that it took him two months to think of a comeback."

In brighter news, it was revealed yesterday that Schafer has teamed up with former collaborator Gon Gilbert and that the duo are working on a new project at Double Fine which promises to be "an entirely new concept" and "very different from Deathspank".
