If reports from German newspaper, Bild, are to be believed then Nintendo are set to launch the much-anticipated 3DS handheld console throughout Europe sometime in Spring 2011, with a Japanese release preceeding that on November 11. There was no mention of a US release date.
The report also claims that Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 3D and Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle are due to be included as part of the console's European launch line-up. A price point of €200 was also mentioned, translating into roughly £170.
This past June Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, had confirmed (via on appearance on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon TV show) that the handheld wouldn't be available before 2011.
Nintendo are holding a Japanese press conference this Wednesday (Sept 29) in which they are expected to officially confirm the launch dates and prices for the console.
Interest in the Nintendo 3DS, which allows users to play games, watch movies and take photos in 3D without the use of polarising glasses (as well as being backward compatible with DS/DSi games) has been high since it was announced at E3 earlier this year.
Hopefully all become clear this Wednesday.
