Publisher Square Enix has confirmed the MMO Collector’s Edition of the game, which launched today in Europe, will allow players to buy ‘Crysta’ to pay for subscriptions and security tokens.

Crysta can be purchased online using a credit card via the Square Enix Account Management System in preset amounts of £5, £10, £20, £30, £50 and £100.

“The introduction of Crysta is an exciting step for Square Enix,” said Square Enix Europe president and chief executive Phil Rogers.

“Our business is actively looking to create new online entertainment and deliver high quality content and services and having a safe and simple payment method is an important part of our online strategy.”

The Final Fantasy XIV Collector’s Edition offers early access to adventurers eager to embark on this new chapter in the Final Fantasy series by granting entry into to the realm of Eorzea ahead of the global release on 30 September 2010 for Windows PC (Standard Edition). The PlayStation 3 version will be released in early March 2011.
