Halo: Reach, Matchmaking Patch And Co-Op Campaign Due In October
20 Sep 2010 at 21:04:56 by Peter ParrishThe latest Halo: Reach update on Bungie's blog contains a few details about a forthcoming update for the game, currently scheduled for release sometime in October.
The update will focus on campaign matchmaking (previously left out to prevent a player's first matchmaking experience dumping them in spoilerville on the final level,) and will allow all players in the group to vote on which mission they chose to tackle. Additional modes like "Rocket Race, Firefight Versus, and more" are all planned for "sometime down the road" so may not be part of the October update.
As for what the patch will cover, Bungie's Jeremiah states "The first matchmaking update for Reach will ... consist primarily of fixes for bugs and balance issues. We're not done testing them all yet, but when they're ready we'll fill you in on all of the little details. We'll also be adding some game types and Forge maps. Co-op campaign will be going live in October as well."
James was quite a fan of Bungie's sign-off to the Halo series, calling it a masterpiece in his review.
