Following yesterday's news that APB would be shut-down today, the BBC posted a report on the closure which mentions that Epic could be looking at snapping up the game.
Since the company went into administration, the administrators have been searching for a potential buyer for the IP and Epic has been mentioned as a possibility in the BBC report. When asked about a potential purchase, Epic declined to comment but Dana Cowley, a spokesperson for Epic said:
"Mark [Epic Games CEO] absolutely loves APB, and everyone here loved what they saw. We've got our hands full of Gears of War 3, Bullet Storm and the recently announced Project Sword. If any talks like that are going on, then they would be confidential."
APB has potential but Epic would have their work cut-out to bring the game up to scratch. If discussions are on-going we'll no doubt hear more in the coming weeks.
