Gran Turismo 5 TGS Details & Media

Sony has unleashed a stack of GT5 goodies from the Tokyo Game show which includes two fantastic trailers for the upcoming racer. The first trailer shows the X1 Prototype car which has been created in conjunction with Red Bull and the second shows the weather effects in action.

The TGS also brings new game details including the My Home functionality for social interaction. My Home is being described as a 'home base' for gamers which will also be viewable from your PC’s web browser, and according to Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi, it  'will help bridge this gap' between console and browser gaming.

Also revealed are a selection of new cars that will make the game's release on 2 November. Gamers can look forward to the 1989 Isuzu 4200R, Citroen GT, 1962 VW Samba bus, 1944 VW Kubelwagen and 1942 VW Schwimmwagen. Not sure that old VW will handle.

The X1 Prototype car is something a little extraordinary and Kazinori explained that they were wanting to build a car that “throws aside all rules and regulations,” and was built for maximum performance making it "the fastest racing car on land.”  The good news is the X1 will be playable when the game is released.

Now I think we all agree that this next trailer is quite simply stunning. It may be slashing down but you can't help but appreciate the detail.
