Gamers Complain Halo: Reach Discs 'Unreadable'

Microsoft has told IncGamers it is aware of a problem after news emerged that some copies of Halo: Reach will not load on the Xbox 360.

Trade paper MCV stated that ‘A number of consumers have claimed that their Xbox 360 consoles are unable to read the game disc.’

One online forum user wrote: ‘So i just got back from my local GameStop, and there was a huge line wrapped around the store. Every single person in line was waiting to exchange their copies of Halo Reach. Apparently, A ton of bad copies got released. When you put the disc in the 360, it won't read it, or it will say eject tray. There are some serious quality control issues going on here.’

After IncGamers contacted Microsoft for their response, the firm replied: “We are aware of the issue and are quickly working to resolve it,” indicating they are planning to release some form of downloadable update for the game.

Yesterday, it was revealed that the co-op mode will not work on 4Gb Xbox 360 consoles.

Halo: Reach is officially one of the fastest-selling after it was confirmed this morning that the title sold 300,000 copies in the UK during its first day on sale.
