Nintendo is to mark Mario’s 25th anniversary with a 90-second TV ad to be shown during Coronation Street this evening.
The TV ad, which will feature stars Ant and Dec, Jonathan Ross, Diversity and Patrick Moore, is the latest announcement from the Japanese games firm after it earlier emerged it has signed up pop duo Jedward for its TV Christmas campaign.
The 90-second TV ad will be followed by further ads running for another three weeks, as well as a 60-second promo to be shown in cinemas around the UK.
It’s 25 years ago today that Super Mario Bros. first launched in Japan and has gone on to become one of the world’s most recognised gaming characters.
